| Japanese Exchange is a scholarship opportunity for
FCCLA members to travel to Japan for four-to-six weeks as an exchange student. This scholarship is funded by the Kikkoman
Corporation, administered by Youth For Understanding USA. Scholarships are worth more than $4,000 each. |
The Japanese Exchange Program includes:
- Round-trip international travel
- Round-trip domestic travel
- Placement with a carefully selected host family
- Regional orientation for scholarship recipients and parents
- Three-day
Japan specific orientation at the beginning of the program
- Support
services in Japan.
- FCCLA members may experience a Japanese tea
ceremony, traditional Japanese foods, or climb up Mount Fuji with a Japanese brother or sister.
Awards:
To apply for the Japanese Exchange Scholarship members must be in their sophomore or junior year in high school.
Please be advised that YFU Japan has made a change to the eligibility age range for students. Teenagers eligible for the YFU
summer program to Japan in 2009 must have a birth date between April 2, 1991 and April 1, 1994.The scholarship application
